BIO

Jason Patten, is an Austin, Texas based Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist. Born in Tennessee, Jason moved to Austin, Texas in late 2009 with the band "State Waters". He soon caught the ear of Grammy and Oscar award-winning producer and engineer, Chet Himes. Jason went into the studio with Chet in 2010 for the first time. That was the beginning of a 10 year working relationship for the two of them that would turn into a close friendship.

In 2019, Jason Patten was contacted by Wade Aunger and asked to write a song for the 59th Annual Knoxville Nationals Sprintcar World Championship, then the song "Stand On The Gas" was written. The southern rock song was premiered at the 59th Annual Knoxville Nationals and was accepted the world over by Sprintcar enthusiasts and fans, and it seemed a new Sprintcar anthem was born. Jason Patten contacted Chet Himes about going into the studio to record a solo debut EP to follow up the hit single, "Stand On The Gas", and then the "Story Of An Outlaw" EP was created.

In 2020, the world shut down. Tours were cancelled, studio doors closed, and shows were indefinitely postponed. And tragically, Jason's producer, engineer, mentor, and longtime friend, Chet Himes passed away unexpectedly. In light of all these things, Jason decided it was time for a break. After a two year hiatus, he toured with a band from Houston, Texas for a short while. And it reignited his musical spark.

Late one night in 2023 on a beach in Florida, Jason Patten decided it was time to head back into the studio and start recording again. And then the album, "Verum-Mane" was created. A larger production than any of the others he had undertaken in the past, featuring a 12 piece band of A-List Texas musicians including: Lou Cabaza / piano, organ and keys, Landis Chisenhall / drums/engineer, Aris Pouncy / bass, guitar, Lindsay Walker, Bobbie Jean Griffin, Candice "Candi" Sanders, Daniel Leon / background vocals and featuring Grooveline Horns: Carlos Sosa /saxophone, Fernando Castillo/trumpet, Raul Vallejo/trombone, and Joshua Younke / cello.

Finally, after countless hours recording and producing in studio, the album was completed in early 2024.
